Why can't I see or search any of the member photos, member profiles, or see any of the other site features?

The safety and privacy of our members is very important to us. If you have not joined SpectrumSingles.com and created a free membership profile, you will not be able to search or view member photos, member profiles, or have access to any of the other SpectrumSingles site features. You must join the SpectrumSingles community and create a free membership profile in order to view other members of the SpectrumSingles community.

 

Is this a free site?

The basic service is free. With this, you are able to create an account and look around, see if this is something you would like to pay for, and see if there is anyone in your area that you would like to talk to. This is all available before you pay one cent. If you decide that you would like to have access to all of the Premium Membership functions by upgrading to a Premium Membership, then there are multiple membership options to select by going clicking on the "Subscribe" tab in your navigation bar.

 

How much do you charge for a Premium Membership?

We offer a various selection of pricing options for Premium Membership. Please log into your account and select "Subscribe" from the navigation bar to see our current pricing. Note: For your convenience, our system will auto re-new your subscription until cancelled. If at any time you want to cancel your subscription, please visit our Terms of Use Page under "Cancellations" for information on canceling your re-occuring subscription. Our goal is to keep you as an active happy part of our online community. If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know.

 

How do I deactivate my free account?

Unregistering your profile will deactivate your free account. Warning! Paid Premium Members, If You Unregister Your Profile You Will Not Be Able to Access Your Account! 

Unregistering your profile means that no one will be able to see your profile and you will no longer receive messages from any other members. To unregister your profile and deactivate your free account, click on the "Edit Profile" in the "My Profile" area of your toolbar. The toolbar is located on the left side of your screen when you're logged in. From there, click on the "Unregister Profile" link on the left below the “Edit Profile” box.

 

 

I forgot my password, how can I get it back?

If you don't remember your password, click on “Forgot Password” in the Sign In box located below the password field. You will be given the option to retrieve your password.

 

 

How can I change my password?

To change your password, click on the "Edit Profile" in the "My Profile" area of your toolbar. The toolbar is located on the left side of your screen when you're logged in. From there, click on the "Change Password" link on the right above the “Edit Profile” box.

You will be asked for to choose a new password (which you will need to retype a second time to make sure you didn't make a mistake).

 

 

Why do you need so much information?

In order to best find your match, as well as let your match find you, we ask as much information about you as possible. 

 

 

Why was something in my profile rejected?

There are a number of reasons why something you added to your profile was rejected.

- You used offensive or abusive language
- You didn't fill out the field properly
- You included an email address, phone number or home address (we do not permit this for safety reasons).

 

 

How do I change my email address?

You can change your email address by going to your "Edit Profile" in the "My Profile" area of your toolbar. The toolbar is located on the left side of your screen when you're logged in. From there, click on the "Notification Options" link and enter your new email address. Remember to press "Save" after you make the change.

 

How do I modify my gender if it is incorrect in my profile?

You can change the gender in your profile by going to your "Edit Profile" in the "My Profile" area of your toolbar. The toolbar is located on the left side of your screen when you're logged in. From there, under “Profile Info” select the right option. Remember to press "Save" after you make the change.

 

How do I make sure that the correct city is in my profile?

 You can change the city listed in your profile by going to your "Edit Profile" in the "My Profile" area of your toolbar. The toolbar is located on the left side of your screen when you're logged in. From there, scroll down to “Location” and select the country, state, and city. Remember to press "Save" after you make the change.

 

My password is not working or I forgot my password.

If your password is not working:

We suggest copying and pasting in your password. Please be sure your browser's cookie settings are no higher than medium-high. Also, try emptying your browser's cookies and temporary files. 

If none of these solutions work, or if you simply forgot your password, you can reset it by clicking on “Forgot Password” in the Sign In box located below the password field. You will be given the option to retrieve your password by entering the email you used when registering.

 

It doesn't seem to save my profile information after I enter it.

Please be sure to click the “Save” button at the bottom of each page you complete.

 

How do I reactivate my old free account?

To reactivate your profile account, just log into the site and enter your username and password.

 

 

My Photos

 

 

How can I upload a photo/video of myself?

To upload a photo
Go to “My Photo” located on your Profile toolbar on the left side of the screen. Then, click on an icon of a camera with the text “click here to upload a new photo” under "Uploaded Photo" . In the main photo box, a button labeled “choose file” should appear.
 

Once you upload a photo and it has been approved (all photos get processed by a member of our Team, which means we might crop the photo or reject it if it's inappropriate for the site), you can select it to be your main photo.

Go to "My Photos" in the "My Profile" area of your toolbar. The toolbar is located on the left side of your screen when you're logged in. There you will see your Main Profile Photo, if you click on "My Photos" again you will see all your Public photos. Click on the photo you want to use as your Main Profile Photo. You will see the selected photo bigger and the different options above the photo. Select "Make Thumbnail".

Remember that the photo file size must not exceed 1MB, and that all photos are converted to JPG format. There, you will see all the photos that you submitted and that have been already approved. Select the one you want to have as your main profile picture. Click "Make Thumbnail". Remember that the photo size has to be at least 200x200 pixels in order to be used as your profile photo. Also keep in mind that it needs to be a picture of you.

 

My photo won't upload onto the site.

Please check to make sure you image size is bigger than 200 width and 230 height. Also the file must be a JPG, GIF, PNG or BMP. 

If your image meets the above standards and you are still having problems please let us know what browser you are using and what error message you are receiving after your attempt to upload the image.

 

How do I delete a photo?

If you want to delete a Public photo, go to "My Photos" in the "My Profile" area of your toolbar. The toolbar is located on the left side of your screen when you're logged in. There you will see your Main Profile Photo. If you want to delete your Main Profile Photo, click on either option on the picture you want to delete. You will see the selected photo bigger and the different options above the picture. Select "Delete" and OK. To exit click the X on the upper right hand corner of the photo. Then you will see that the photo is no longer part of your Public photos.

What is a "Verified" profile photo and how do I verify my profile photo?

A "Verified" profile photo is a photo that has been deemed authentic by SpectrumSingles admin. Verifying your profile photo ensures other members that you are in fact the person in the photo you posted on your profile. Once you post a photo of yourself in your profile, SpectrumSingles will email you a unique verification code. If you want to Verify your profile photo, you will use this code to send us a verification photo of yourself holding the code written on a piece of paper. Make sure your face is clearly visable and the code is readable in the photo. Once we receive your verification photo and we deem it authentic, we will set your profile photo status as "Verified".

How do I change my general settings?

Once you are logged in, click on "Home" in your navigation bar. This is your Member Home Page. On the top right of the page, click on "Settings". In your General Settings, check the boxes desired. Click "Save". 

 

How do I invite friends to join SpectrumSingles?

Once you are logged in, click on "Home" in your navigation bar. This is your Member Home Page. On the top right of the page, click on "Invite Friends". Enter your friends' email addresses and add a personal message if desired. Click "Send".

 

How do I invite my Facebook friends to join SpectrumSingles?

Once you are logged in, click on "Home" in your navigation bar. This is your Member Home Page. On the top right of the page, click on "Invite Friends". On the top right corner of the "Invite Friends" box, click on the "F Invite" button. If you are not already logged into Facebook, you will be prompted to login to your Facebook account. Click on "Invite" next to friends' names you would like to invite to join SpectrumSingles. Click "Send".

 

How can I send a message?

You can send messages to any user on the site if you have a full membership. To send a message you must simply click on "Send Message", located directly below a member's main photo on the top of your screen (when looking at a given member's profile). Enter the subject, the message body and press "Send".

They are in the inbox, like regular email messages.

 

How do I block a user from messaging me?

To block a user from messaging you, simply click on "Block". It's located below a member's main photo on the top of your screen (when looking at a given member's profile). Then, you will have the option of adding a comment which will be viewable to you and the member you want to block. Whether you want to post a message or not, you need to press "Add" to block that member. They will then no longer be able to message you.

 

How do I add or remove someone from my Bookmarks?

To ADD:
Please visit the member's profile and click on "Bookmark". It's located below a member's main photo on the top of your screen (when looking at a given member's profile). Then, you will have the option of adding a comment which will be viewable to you and the other member. Whether you want to post a message or not, you need to press "Add" to have that member listed as one of your bookmarks. 

To REMOVE:
Please visit the member's profile and click on "Bookmark". Then, click on "Remove Bookmark", located in the upper portion of the pop-up window. 

 

How do I check my messages from other members, view messages I sent, or send a new message to a member?

In the top right corner of any page you are on in SpectrumSingles, you will see the "Mailbox" link next to the "Sign Out" link. Click on "Mailbox". You can view your incoming messages here. To view sent messages (messages you sent to other members), click on "Sent" in the top right corner of the message box. To send a new message to a member, click on "New Message" in the top right corner of the message box.

 

Why can't I read my messages from other members?

As a free basic member, you can upload your profile, take the Spectrum Compatibility Test, upload photos, search profiles and view them. You will need to upgrade to a Premium Membership to send and receive messages.

 

I took the Spectrum Compatibility Test (SCT) and was assigned a color. What do the colors mean? 
The colors themselves have no meaning outside the SpectrumSingles website. We have purposely chosen not to assign labels to the colors in the SCT to prevent any members from feeling excluded or isolated based on their color. If you notice, multiple questions deal with sensory processing, social skills, and other attributes we deemed important to ask about when finding spectrum compatible matches. Because as we all know, not everyone on the autism spectrum is the same. When you are assigned a color after taking the SCT, you are matched to people within your color range who have answered similarly to your own answers. We are currently working on a video to further explain our decision to not assign labels in the color range that will be posted in the SpectrumSingles YouTube Channel.

Why can't I complete the join form?

Please be sure your browser's cookie settings are no higher than medium-high. Also, be sure your entries do not contain anything other than letters and standard punctuation marks.

 

My credit card keeps getting declined

Please check with your card issuing bank to make sure that they are not blocking the transaction or try a different credit card.

 

Can I pay by check?

No, unfortunately we do not accept payments by check at this time.
